Just a swingin...

Never seen the cut to remove the bottom of notch. good holding wood there. Do you ever use a soft dutchman? or can you accomplish the same result using wedges?

Actually, a lot of that holding wood was rotten, but usual for a big old White Fir. I did use a soft dutchman (more than one kerf)You can see me installing it at 1:47.
 
Love your vids. Between you and Hotsaws101 on Youtube I've learned a bit to make me a better tree feller. I'm not where I want to be yet, but I'll get there. Kepp 'em coming!
 
Thanks :) Hotsaws definitely knows his stuff and has a lot cooler timber to work with. Wish I would have had a helmet cam, or even taken to time to get videos of some of the timber that I cut in the past...
