I talked with cory petry just before he did his work climb and he told me he was lucky to be grouped with you Kathy. Did you like the Co-ed format this year/ congrats on another outstanding ITCC.

Congrats to all of the climbers!!!!! That was one heck of a display of incredible climbing in some truly picturesque trees!!!!!

Cheers to Kathy, Kiah, and Chrissy for the inspiring climbs in the Banyan !!!! At least I think it was a Banyan, my tree ID skills were left at the airport in Phoenix. Hawaii has some incredibly beautiful and crazy looking trees.

Cheers to Kathy for the innovative use of aerial roots and the guts to stick out a hard climb!!!

Cheers to Chrissy for the incredible plan, composure, and skill mixed in with a little fun!!!!!!!

Cheers to Kiah for her determination and for being an excellent role model for all aspiring women arborists!!!!!

Cheers to Tod for one hell of a well planned out attack on the Monkey Pod!!!!!!!!!! If that pulley hadn't dropped those judges would have been drawing straws to determine the winner.

Cheers to Mark for reminding me, yet again, that I should have become a used car salesman and never aspired to be as smooth in a tree as him. That was absolutely breathtaking to watch, with a little drama mixed in for the last seconds.

Cheers to Bernd for proving that "simple" is often the way to go. If he pares out any more gear for next years comp he may finally get to climb barefoot like he wants to. Excellent plan and flawless application, there is nothing more to say!!!!!!!!!!

Cheers to Brett Hamlin for the excellent approach and squeaking pulley distractions. I am among the many climbers who could not have pulled off the climb you did with the fluidity and skill that you did it.

hey there, and thanks. i was happy with how i did in the prelims but my masters climb was...let's say, less than graceful. oh well, ya can't be in the zone every time (or can you?).

i have to say, i think integrating the women into the group during comps is the right thing to do because we get access to more climbers with lots of experience. but i kinda miss bein with just the women - we all sort of got to know each other and cheered a lot for each other, which seems to be a little different than the integrated groups. it's all good though. i've had the good fortune to meet excellent folks at every comp i've been to, so that's the main thing eh?
cheers.

Here is a shot of the Mens Master Climb. I believe it is a Monkey Pod.

Here is one of the Womens Master. You can see the aerial roots that Kathy used so well.

Thanks for the post Craig.

I just walked in the door here at home and feel blessed to have taken part in another world class event. What a great spot, great trees and even greater people. I loved every minute of it and hope I can return again next year to participate again. It was such a fun and challenging event. Amazing is all I can say.

And thanks for the kind words. Zac, you are right

Glad to hear you're back home safe and sound Mark. It was a pleasure having you out here in Hawaii. Thanks for everything.

So, how was Kauai?

Perfect! I surfed, snorkled on the Napali Coast, went to a Luau and took in the "Grand Canyon of the Pacific". Not to mention the quality time spent with my family just enjoying their company. Yeah, it was perfect.

Okay, now that I would have loved to been there for. After watching you run around the tree and making me realize, oh well I'll never move like that in a tree... I would have love to been there for the surfing part

Where'd you get in the water?
