I'm sold. I'll be ordering one today for SPRAT work.

Nick, do you know when TreeStuff will have the new ISC Rope Wrench mini-pulley for sale?

A few weeks I hope!

I have never used the D4 in a production setting. I rdo have a fair bit of experience with the Rig and similar products.

I can't wait to put the D4 to work. I was leaning towards the RIG or I'D, but after seeing Nick's and ISC's vids, I was sold on the D4.

With all of the other available gear why would you use this for tree climbing? especially for the price? I must be missing something.

Levi, I would not use it for tree work, but would for SPRAT work, which does not allow the use of Multiscenders...yet :)

The D4 is nice, but my first thought holding it in my hands was "damn is that thing heavy"!
I know some Tree Climbers will love that, but comparing it to a Petzl Rig it feels like being made of steel totally...
No real world experience so far to be honest.

I like that its possible to run the brake rope straight out of the device, causing less twists in the rope.

I don't use this but I clmb with the Rig 99% of the time and love it. Have been for well over a year. Pruning, removals, everything except small trees

Dorian,

Can you elaborate a bit on your approach to work positioning with the RIG? What I would like to know is if you use it in RADS for short distance progress along with a change-over to a straight rope path system for long distance. I'm just guessing this may be your approach, as the last I remember you were in a Sequoia SRT saddle.

Any input would be cool, as I'm sure any climber could create a novel about scenarios found in day to day production. I just though it could add to this thread.
