intro myself

I've posted a couple off times and I think it's proper to introduce myself.

I'm Wouter van den Dungen, a treeclimber (own bussiness) for 12 years now. I've been fooling around with national, european and world climbing championships. 2 times second place and 2 times dutch climbing champion, 2e place on the european and sometime ago (2001 ?) in seattle i've managed to get the 13e place after a 3 weeks no climbing vacation up in canada.

I'm 33 years old, have 2 wonderfull kids and spend most off my time when i'm not in the trees at home. I'm keen on working with wood in a way you call it rustic woodworking.

My bussiness is about pruning trees and climbing skills.

Thats all for now - want to know more, just ask me .

Welcome and thanks for introducing yourself. Its extra interesting to have contributions from non-Americans, as a different perspective about trees, and business/ legal issues in regards to trees (you may know Americans are crazy about suing people, even for their own stupidity).

How did you get Buzzed?

Hi Wouter!

Loved your April Fool's vid!

Here's my version of a fool in April.

They say a balanced life is a rewarding life.

I believe that's true, particularly for a climbing arborist.

Counterweighted climbing takes a bit of getting used to because the upward force is constant and tends to encourage the climber to lanyard in prior to making any cuts.

I encourage all seriously experienced climbers to cautiously try this new counterweight climbing technique out. Remember to place your pulley at an extremely stable and robust TIP, then place your static line above the pulley.

A fat climber's dream come true!

Nice to meet yu Wouter.

There are quite a few ways to configure the system depending on the tree.

I don't want to hi-jack Wouter's intro thread with my crazy stuff. I've posted a thread on my CW system in the Rigging&Roping forum, and will be happy to answer any questions about the technique there.

Thanks for all your warm welcome words.
I've learned the Buzz from Wolter Kok my friend from Houten the netherlands - nickname treespotter -

I'm addicted to the dutch Treehugs site and also post on the New Zealand Treetools blog and now here I am on a new adventure spending time behind the Laptop.
I'm not planning on posting frequently - but that's almost impossible if I see all the nice Topics and interesting Posts. My arborist site
