I was wrong: TM manual was there :(

Edit: both the manual and the accessory cordage were there. Major league retard move on my part: I think in pulling the harness out, the book and bag of cords flopped out into the bed of my [overly crowded] truck, and there they were. Apologies for the thread, an I appreciate everyone who chimed in.

Am I missing something?

Ordered a treeMOTION S. Light from SherrillTree and received the item, packaged in a black fabric bag, inside of the shipping container (cardboard).

There was no manual included, and nothing else in the bag. Just wondering what else should be in there, if anything. I read somewhere that at least the older TM's shipped with additional accessory cordage that could be added to the harness where the user desired. That wasn't there.

The harness was in a zip-tied clear plastic bag, inside of the black fabric drawstring bag (black bag itself had a clear plastic sleeve sewn on one side, with a Teufelberger paper company logo insert in it).

From what I've seen the accessory "bungee" cordage is sold as exactly just that, an accessory... who knows.. call them.. they would know what they include better than we would. Could be something that used to be included but isn't anymore..

A manual?? Idk man.. not sure I'd be concerned about it.. I never got one with my saddle, but didn't care either as this stuff is pretty self explainatory.. Regardless, You know you can download these things via Google, right? A simple PDF search brings it right up & allows all the mindfuckery you could want, on the go too!

Yes its suppose to come with a manual and extra bungee cord and that plastic cover stuff that goes over the bungee. That bungee and plastic stuff should definitely come with it. One of the biggest reasons I got a tm was the customizability. That's why they send extra bungee and plastic so you can hang gear loops all over. I bought the normal tm not the treemo light. I still believe yours woulda came with the bungee and stuff.I would return it if you can and they won't send you your bungee. Can i ask why you chose the light version over the more comfortable? Was it just $$ ? I thought you were a recreational guy?

The goal with climbing was to be able to do removals, not recreation.

I did download the PDF already; was just wondering what should have come in there. I wanted the manual to read about care instructions, storage, to look at the weight ratings of the various attachment points, etc., etc.

I got the Light and added the full version's pad. Majorly massively core comfortable than what I'd been using, especially when supported by the climb line (the 4D I was using pulled legs together). Main reason I went with Light over evo was due to it being $200 less.

Yea I was going to say the pad doesn't add too much weight for the comfort it offers. And I would just wait a year or 2 for the evo to get down to a more "normal" price.....

Only thing the evo has that I would have liked is the double rope bridge (as you know from the other thread). But, that's easy enough to add. I just didn't see that many downsides.

Yea you'll be just fine with yours...give it some Time before you buy a diff ride. That way you'll know for sure if you like the fit from the treemo or if you'd like to try something like a ergovation or monkey beaver. Is love to see the mcrs back in production. That's a saddle I would love to try out

I went and read the manual for that MCRS after seeing all the worship for it here. Very cool and different idea. When it was in production, what was the price running approximately?

I'm probably settled on the TM, no plans of switching in the foreseeable future. Compared to that Weaver, which I've spent a fair number of hours in near the ground, it's on a different planet.

Only thing is, I gotta figure out how to tighten and loosen that waist buckle more easily!

Yeah what he said. I would have them ship you some new stuff. I got mine couple weeks ago through gap arborist supplies and it came with manual and bungee and plastic to customize and they were super helpful when I had questions about the new buckles. I’ve only been able to set it up in the Basement but I sit in it a few times a day. Lol. I find it super comfy, make sure you are wearing it right below your top hip bone. Haven’t even climbed in it yet and it blows my Buckingham rebellion out of the tree without the extra padding. Dial it in and you’ll be happy and call sherrill. Wtf. I would recommend a different company to buy through going forward

Guys, I mucked up. Manual and cord were all there in the back of my truck. The bed is a mess right now, and I think when I pulled everything out of the fabric bag, those guys must have just flopped out.

False alarm. SherrillTree was 100%.

I have one of those oversized, bent-gate, non-locking carabiners (CMI makes it I think) that I was using to hold my saw on the Weaver, and am wondering exactly how to incorporate the red ring on the TM for holding the saw.

The Weaver held that carabiner facing out, so it was super easy to clip the big ring on the saw lanyard into. I'm not sure how to do this yet with the TM, where to put that carabiner, how to incorporate the red ring, whether or not I need to get a transporter, etc., etc.

If you have a thread to point me to that would help, send her on.

Congrats on the new saddle. Get a couple small caritools for hanging your gear, and hang your chainsaw off the red ring in the rear. Thats why its there. Add some weaver suspenders and you will be a happy camper. I may be the odd man out here, but I have alway felt the TM Light was a more comfy harness than the regular. I personally like the thinner backpad and the waist belt on the light much more than the regular TM. A properly set up TM light hugs the hips like no other saddle I have ever tried. For pure comfort the TM light is still in my top 2!

For a saw...Caritool vs. Transporter vs. Vault vs. Climb Right Accessory carabiner https://www.treestuff.com/store/catalog.asp?item=15170

I have the climb right one, but does it have enough surface area on the spine to adequately support the harness tunnel it goes through? I notice that the transporter and vault have wide spines, presumably to distribute load.

Edit: with the weight rating of the Caritool (looked at it on treestuff), there's no way I'd put a rear handle on it. I'm working with a 362cm at this point, so I'm guessing I have 15lbs or so of saw hanging out there. Am I thinking about this wrong?

Am I thinking about this wrong?

Yes completely. The entire scenario.. I'm sorry man, the things your constantly asking are mind numbing & should be common knowledge to anyone before even thinking about climbing, nevermind using a heavy ground saw in a tree or trying to Bid Jobs like you are... But it's beyond that, the need to ask why the spine is wide on the transporter is one of those mind numbing questions.. for real, in all sincerity, do you really not know why it's wide? You really don't know the limits of a caritool? Besides the fact both answers can be figured out just by looking at them, all these manufacturer design choices & material specs are printed right there in their descriptions & ratings.

Dude I'm sorry someone has to say it for your own good...
Two months ago you came here with 0 knowledge, experience, ability or skill on this overall treework topic.. Although theres been some positive encouragment, you've also been kindly warned that your over your head time & time again by those with enough courage to say so.. Yet i just read (& this is mainly why I'm writting this) a thread where your trying to bid jobs as if you have the ability, experience & tools to complete them, nevermind not get fucked up or killed in the process.. I have to ask, again, with all sincerity, Do you really think your just going to get up there & it will all be clear as to what to do, when just a month ago you were telling us how physically hard it is to flip a flipline & asking why your spurs aren't working? I beleive your trying to run with scissors before you've even learned how to even crawl my friend.. The very basic 101 stuff your asking paints this obvious picture.. I don't think your grasping just how quick this shit hits the fan, how easy it can hit the fan & how helpless you'll be when it does until it's too late & your a gonner.. What was this trade ranked? #2nd most dangerous in the world? Maybe it's changed since then..idk.. the point i need to make runs deeper than some ranking.

The fact is..(& this may sound over the top) in terms of learning, this trade is no different than say... a.. Seal Team .. Special Forces.. SWAT.. Firefighter, Elite Security Contactors, even a joe schmo Beat Cop... You can't just decide one day to be one after two months of talking on the internet, a few ride alongs, some positive comments & then with a final written quiz, expect go off on your own & take down Osama bin laden. There's a very long process of learning basic skills that needs to be completed & memorized on just the ground level.. Idc what anyone says, 20yrs of cutting firewood only scratches the surface of the ground game needed to complete this work, nevermind understanding rigging & then possibly the climbing, but only when those boxes are checked.. Strapping on spurs with limited climbing ability, limited saw experience, no real tree rigging experience or how & why each limb will react when cut, will end up very very bad.. & possibly bad for those around you as well. Not to mention property damage to the homeowner who trusted your skillset.

I worked this trade daily for 4-5 years before i personally felt i knew enough to even attempt being an Arborist.. & I'm that guy who has lived his whole life blurring the lines between what will kill & what won't, fuck ppe, fuck helmets etc.. just lived stupid as hell & was comfortable with any extreme scenario. I also thought I knew everything about treework because i owned a landscaping company & bid on shit as if i knew what was up.. That was until i actually did it for a full time living & realized i didn't know shit & had just been lucky.. Since then, I've seen & heard of too many accidents within this trade that come & go within a split second & are inseared into my brain like a bad dream. This job is no joke my friend, these were all guys being careful with years of experience.. your not ready for prime time bud, I'm telling you. Do not take these jobs on yet.. that is how the accident starts & becomes the snowball effect.

Is what i just explained dramatic, harsh, negative, maybe. But it's it untrue, No, its very real. Maybe i should have PM'd.. idk.. i just wish more would speak up to the OP for his own sake.. cuz yall know exactly what I'm talking about if you've been following along....

To answer your question, the larger caritool is rated plenty strong to hold a 15lb saw.. Plenty of ppl holding saws with them.
