Just to clarify that Ron, I said 'get hurt' rather than fall. I'm pretty sure there are a lot of arborists who go whole careers without falling. But sooner or later, everybody has a lost time injury of some sort. The odds are just against us.
About the wacky pine tree teacher, I watched with no audio (kids going to sleep) and I dunno... He's definitely a yahoo with disillusions of badazzedness.
But as a kid I climbed a lot of dinky pines with dead branches. Last year my daughter and I solo climbed waaay up a hemlock on mostly dead branches. Hemlock branches have a wicked strong attachment though.
I guess i don't get WHY anyone would produce a home made instructional tree climbing video when all they do is climb a dinky little pine just like any red blooded kid would.
