I gouged myself. Not one handing.

Late to this thread... Just want to express some appreciation for the share (that goes for everyone here with a similar experience) Your description of the sequence of events leading to the gouge moment is clear. Also, sharing the state of mind when it happened. I have gleaned a lot of valuable insight from you @islandarb and appreciate your honest take on things. Ride that bike, heal up, keep sharing.

Not to diminish from your injury at all, but just wanted to show a much smaller wound (from 2020) that happened from tripping and falling on a non running saw I was carrying up through some steep woods. Saw was pointed behind me, downhill, as I had been instructed to do. Now I keep a scabbard on when I’m hauling a saw for a ways.

A sharp chain and flesh do not mix. Moving or not.

Met a guy once who had the dented in version scar of your cut an inch or two down from the inner elbow, left arm. He must've cut muscle too. Speedy recovery.

Dat's a lot of feet Erik. So glad you were out of that mess to tell us about it. I was a short piddly drop in a small mango removal. An easy peasy cut and drop scenario. But I was angry with one of my employees since the day before and it carried out that morning. I should never have climbed in that mood. Small or big.....
Head space is an important factor in performance.
This has been on my mind, and in my days, lately.

I've heard of massaging scars, meaning grinding them Hard to break down the scar tissue.

Keeping it moist is important for the healing.

Maybe Vitamin E.
