Can you send me a photo of your dolkita saw?I'm a dolkita guy myself. 64/73/7900 all the way! Beyond that I have both husky(394xp) and stihl(200t). I love them both, but I also chose best in class models for both...
Which saw was that on.I run a few saws that have max flow filters and a neat trick is to cut about 6” off a pantyhose leg and put that over the filter. Works great, you can just brush it off with a cloth or a glove and it takes much longer before you have to wash the filter. I’ve been cutting timber in an area that burned and the ash and soot was terrible. Clogged filters fast. I started using the pantyhose trick and went from cleaning my filters everyday to cleaning them once or twice a week.
I run that set up on a 661 a 660 and a ported 461Which saw was that on.
How have the huskys been doing in that area with that nasty stuff, that will put them all to the test. Great place to test new saws for these companies.I run that set up on a 661 a 660 and a ported 461

Good to see you Rob.View attachment 51617 The new ones are dolmar red since Makita phased out the dolmar name, but same chasis with some EPA mods up top.

The husky’s seemed to let a lot of fine material into the throat of the carb otherwise they did fine. I would have tried the pantyhose trick on them but I started running the stihls. Both brands in my opinion are excellent saws, I’ve never had any significant problems with either and I have several of each. And a few echo 2511t’s which I really like for pruning and small removals. How have the huskys been doing in that area with that nasty stuff, that will put them all to the test. Good to know it's something to watch for. So it was coming through the filter, or under it.The husky’s seemed to let a lot of fine material into the throat of the carb otherwise they did fine. That's what I've been told about them also. Since I don't do much pruning it doesn't matter much for me which chain as long as it's does well power wise.Good idea on the grease. I was just thinking about putting pantyhose on a husky filter and I don’t know how well it would work. Be tough to get that seal and it might be hard to keep the hose material from spinning/winding around the hold down screw. Works great on a foam max flow though. And you’ll like the 2511. Did a muffler mod and ignition timing advance on one and it makes a big difference. I’ve got a 3/8 chisel chain on it and it absolutely sucks for pruning, too aggressive but it kicks ass on small removals. I’m going to try to get one of the porting gurus to work on one and see what happens.

Good morning BB.How far did you go with the timing? 5°? I've been impressed with the 2511 so far, but I can tell the muffler is stuffed.
