I was just wondering if anyone was splicing the loop line and what kind of tests if any have you guys done with tensile strenght after the splice. Any suggestions or information would be great.
We have been using it as some light rigging slings since ISA Chicago. So far they are working just fine. We usually keep them to branches under 100lbs and we have used them a fair amount. I guess its a good product, but for the cost, I think we will stick to the good old fashion tubular nylon webbing.
Norm, where do you get 975 (SWL I presume) from 6500 average tensile? I'm figuring a reduction for the splice, and being a loop, maybe doubling the tensile.

Thanks.

I multiplied 6,500 times 15%. Not real scientific, just what I go by for rigging slings, whether in loop form or single line.
