Yes. I pretty much live on cherry juice and cherries. They have a gout med that I tried once but had a bad reaction to it.Have you tried the cherry juice for gout?
You can't explain it anyone. When I get a bad case, even a bed sheet touching my foot will make me scream in pain. Foot swells up like a football and you think the skin will split open. Not fun at all. I wish I could figure out what triggers it with me. I have followed several doctors lists of what not to eat and drink, and I still get it.Damn, sorry to hear that. Had some family with gout that wouldn't change their diet and just suffered constantly. Seems pretty rough.
I hope you try and at least take the Ibuprofen with food. That stuff will eat a hole in your stomach eventually if you don't. It works but at a cost if you aren't careful.Yes. I pretty much live on cherry juice and cherries. They have a gout med that I tried once but had a bad reaction to it.
I don't drink, and I stay ay from just about everything they tell you not to eat when you have gout, but I have defied all of it so far. Some days there is no way I can walk, but with a handful of Advil mornings and evenings I can keep the swelling down enough to get my boots on and hobble about. Most of the time. On the down hill side of a round with it now. A few days ago I was restricted to chair duty. If tomorrow is as good as today I have some tree work to get done. Snow is almost gone!
Yeah, even though I don't want to. I'm one of those people who really doesn't enjoy eating.I hope you try and at least take the Ibuprofen with food. That stuff will eat a hole in your stomach eventually if you don't. It works but at a cost if you aren't careful.
Have you kept a food journal to try to track correlations? You can't explain it anyone. When I get a bad case, even a bed sheet touching my foot will make me scream in pain. But enough of me and my old, worn out carcass.
Yes. Over the fifteen years or so I have had gout I have tried to keep track of what causes it to flare up. since it is a build up of acid crystals in the joints, one has to go back several days ago in order to figure out what you ate or drank. I have all the lists of things that cause these acid crystals to form, and I have completely avoided them and still it get a flare up. I've given up trying to figure it out. Now I just take handfuls of Advil to keep the swelling down as much as possible and expect to have a few weeks a year where I can't walk.Have you kept a food journal to try to track correlations?
Strange things happen. Pineapple hurts a friend's shoulders.
Yep. Did something to my blood that scared the doctor and was taken off of it right then and there. Not sure what that was all about, but the doctor was most insistent I do not ever again take Allopurinol. Was the medication you tried called allopurinol? That is the most common gout medication.
