How do YOU carry the pole saw with you?

I use about 5' of 3mm cord with biners on each end and connect to harness or wrapped around limbs. Hooks are nice but hate the feeling of knowing the saw isn't tethered and it could hurt someone.

My telescoping pole is usually passed down to ground between retie-ins or major movements, its just easier.
Pole saw is my best friend on pruning jobs. Of all the disciplines, pole saw work requires the most core strength especially when your at your max reach on the max reach of 3 lenghts of pole and maintaining horizontal and making the prune. IMHO.

Just a little tip, if you can't make the best cut from one spot I gaurantee you will be able to make it from below, or above, the otherside or another angle.

Just takes polesaw acumen!

I really only use the longboy on large tree prunes where you can hit multiple limbs from one area, mostly in the winter on elm and oak pruning. Hard to see deadwood on the back of big leads sometime and it's a lot easier to reach out 10-12 feet then going back to the other side of tree. If it's a big cut I'll go back and get it with the chainsaw. I'd rather climb around then stand there and get sore shoulders, but it has it's benefits in many situations.

I carry the longboy either with a sling that drops just below my feet while hanging, or clip it strait to my saddle. I always have it sheathed when it's strapped to me. I will hang it but only with the blade away and moving a relatively short distance. Don't like to hook it and let it swing. I saw the damage caused when one of my coworkers dropped it on to his own shoulder, and want no part of that.

just throw em,, if you need it again ,, have that dude on the ground tie it back on,, those new fandandgled aluiminun poles souldnt leave the ground there to heavy and expensive,, same with the fiberglass,, i wont leave the shop without four sections ,for my bull prunner my pole saw head, or my big shot love, jamerson the make the day to day so much easier , but i will take my 12ft wooden ash polesaw over a jamerson 10 times outa ten, when im in a tree, i ve thrown them from heights up to 80 feet, with an ocasional bent blade, or a blown out tail when the ground is frozen but when a 12 pack of 12 footers cost 20 bucks,, ill gladly make a new one. when i do hang/carry it? it makes me mad,,

I made a lanyard for my zubat that incorporates the scabbard and is secure yet easy on and easy off.
