how do i refurbish 8mm beeline eyes?

i have been using 8mm beeline for awhile and i dont like how the core strands are not covered in the eyes. they get soft after a bit of usage and the core fibers in the eyes start to get fluffy and separate. is there anyway to refurbish the eyes to make them stiffer so my caribiners are not snagging fibers all the time.

is there any way to coat a rope your self to make it a bit more abrasion resistant or are non coated poly double braids pretty good already? i heard it's not that big of a difference coated vs uncoated rigging line.

Coated DB's are the only way to fly. It make's a huge difference. So much less prone to 'picking'.

Yep. Go to West Marine, but 3' of 1/2" uncoated nylon double braid dock line, girth hitch it to your harness and climb around for a while and leave it there.

It'll get snagged on wayyyyy more things than a coated rope.

I wouldn't mind a triple-coated rigging line, I think. It'd be a bear to break in the last 15' for knotting purposes, but once that was done, you'd have a much burlier rope!
