horror trees

I guess it depends on your definition of horror. For me, it's immediate injury to life and limb. If there's a spatial conflict between trees and utilities, or buildings, or whatever, that's not my fault. I make the best decisions and cuts I can, and walk away with a clear head. Anyone with similiar training and experience would have done the same thing.
If the finished product looks bad, it's not a "horror", it's a drag. I chalk it up to poor planning.

So I've got a new horror tree. i took a surf trip down the coast through the redwoods, and south of Fort Bragg, i started running into these groves of Eucalyptus (globulus?) along hwy 1. These monsters are huge! driving by, I'd guesstimate a circumfrence of 15'-18', and 135'+ on the height. They stay real thick about half the way up, and then the tops are long, slender, brittle, and slick looking. hats off to the trimmers who work those things on a regular basis. removing one of those without a crane would be a lot of work!

Being from New York (the State, not the City) I have found the worst thing to deal with on our ROWs are the Land/Home owners! I've never found a tree situation that couldn't be solved with a good rope and a sharp saw. Try using those on a homeowner!

I've always thought that they should add another competion to the tree championship. It would have actors portray pissed-off owners going at the competitors to see how long they last before they lose it. It would play great on ESPN2.
