Re: Hitch Climber

And this from the DMM website.

"The Revolver Screwgate is the carabiner that a lot of people have been waiting for and it will be finally available in Autumn 2007.

The carabiner will feature a full range of locking mechanisms - Screwgate, Quicklock and Locksafe - and also comes with a keylock nose so that it does not snag on ropes or gear."

Re: Hitch Climber

To not derail this thread I'll get back to the hitch climber.
After having some trouble with the hitch catching under the end of the climbing line I've tried my old configuration again.
Put my hitch cord on both sides of the hitch climber and the end of the climbing line on the side of the same biner again.
The top hole of the HC is on the biner. Now the disadvantage is gone and all the good things remain.

Re: Hitch Climber

well i must confess i put my hc back in the bag today. i will go back to it, but right now im trying to get to grips with the new harness as well and everythings been thrown out of sync i think!

Re: Hitch Climber

I am interested in this pulley............has anyone tried climbing on it with a hitch tied with 2 double fishermans knots? I run a spliced eye on my climbing rope.

It says on the DMM webpage, despite only showing a picture of a screwlock, that various other locking versions are available.

Re: Hitch Climber

Chris, Nod, I just downloaded your PDF on the hitch climber, and checked out the new web site.

I think a fantastic job was done! Very informative and well put together. Nice graphics also.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned it yet, but Mr. Strasser and the Treemagineers crew have developed a beautiful self tending set up with the Hitch Climber that is just plain amazing. You can extend and contract your current friction knot without the need to safety into the tree and you can do it under full load as well. Truly an amazing development. Surely someone has pics, if not I will do my best to get some up soon of the configuration. Cheers to a completely amazing leap forward in technique!!!!!!
