Hitch Hiker 2 availability

Every long climb, with heavy rigging gear, that I avoid, I mentally pay off part of my Wraptor and APTA. My body thanks me, particularly my right shoulder that I need a lot for working, once I've commuted up the tree.

Will the hitch hiker 2 work fine on the Sampson 1/2” Arbor Plex 12 strand line? It’s the line that came with my climbing kit from Wesspur. Currently my only climbing line. Seems to be lots of experience with people talking in this older thread.

That might be one of the stretchiest arborist ropes on the market. It’s likely a poor rope for SRT climbing, but it will serve for DdRT. I’m certain the HH2 will work with it though, but you may have to make adjustments to the hitch. See how it performs if you start your wraps from the front or from the back, maybe add another wrap or try a different hitch altogether.
I’d really suggest some type of 24 or 32 strand anyways, there’s a ton of choices. The Arborplex is a fine light rigging line though. I got a bunch that’s pretty glazed but I abused it a bit. Should probably throw it away but was thinking about weaving an outdoor or shop rug with it for fun :)

I’ve been thinking of picking up a rigging line. But then that brought me to think of getting a new climbing line, like the type you mentioned then making this arbor plex be my rigging line. That may be my best answer. I have a few limbs I need to work that would be easier with a rigging setup than dropping them to the ground.

I have used the HH2 on arborplex. I used HRC as my hitch cord. I had to take more wraps to stop creeping down the line on SRT when compared to a double braid like blue moon.
