History, Politics and Globalization Refresher

Jomoco - if it were simply history repeating itself, mankind's selective greedy few at it again- I'd blame two elements: revised history of humankind's struggles that do not illustrate reality and two: the planet unable to adapt to the changes -we've by far have exacerbated- and loss of our ability to live and grow food or have water in ever-expanding regions leaving a mass of refugees and exodus we're never experienced before.

Strangle the last King with the entrails of the last priest - my favorite saying when the edge closes in and the end appears imminent and science is "Tea-Partied" into oblivion.

I distinctly remember my Mother's tales of her childhood in the islands of N Carolina when FDR's rural electrification poles were being set on my own Great Uncle's properties against their wills as they howled in protest. But how quickly they changed their tunes when electric lights, washing machines and refrigerators made their wives ardent FDR supporters regardless of their husband's bigoted racist nonsense!

FDR was a hero to the poorest sections of N Carolina, particularly the women!

When you think of god being the ultimate master scientist who keeps his promises to us regardless of how long we take figuring him out?

Dyin ain't so scary.

It's watchin helplessly while your loved one dies in pain that really tests your mettle.

Wishin you all the best this world can give Oakwilt.

Can we handle the truth?

History repeating itself in a 100 year cycle

The age of the robber barons dawning once again

Consolidation of wealth and power into the hands of just a few

Actors on our political stage proclaim we did it all for you

While backstage they slap each others backs and congratulate themselves

Their's an uneasy heaven our's a daily hell

The guillotine so sharp and glistening winds up to the top

The bright eyed peasants befouled and grimy cheer it as it drops

While high above the moon shines brightly indifferent to our plight

The Purse-Seine

Our sardine fishermen work at night in the dark
of the moon; daylight or moonlight
They could not tell where to spread the net,
unable to see the phosphorescence of the
shoals of fish.
They work northward from Monterey, coasting
Santa Cruz; off New Year's Point or off
Pigeon Point
The look-out man will see some lakes of milk-color
light on the sea's night-purple; he points,
and the helmsman
Turns the dark prow, the motorboat circles the
gleaming shoal and drifts out her seine-net.
They close the circle
And purse the bottom of the net, then with great
labor haul it in.

I cannot tell you
How beautiful the scene is, and a little terrible,
then, when the crowded fish
Know they are caught, and wildly beat from one wall
to the other of their closing destiny the
phosphorescent
Water to a pool of flame, each beautiful slender body
sheeted with flame, like a live rocket
A comet's tail wake of clear yellow flame; while outside
the narrowing
Floats and cordage of the net great sea-lions come up
to watch, sighing in the dark; the vast walls
of night
Stand erect to the stars.

Lately I was looking from a night mountain-top
On a wide city, the colored splendor, galaxies of light:
how could I help but recall the seine-net
Gathering the luminous fish? I cannot tell you how
beautiful the city appeared, and a little terrible.
I thought, We have geared the machines and locked all together
into inter-dependence; we have built the great cities; now
There is no escape. We have gathered vast populations incapable
of free survival, insulated
From the strong earth, each person in himself helpless, on all
dependent. The circle is closed, and the net
Is being hauled in. They hardly feel the cords drawing, yet
they shine already. The inevitable mass-disasters
Will not come in our time nor in our children's, but we
and our children
Must watch the net draw narrower, government take all
powers--or revolution, and the new government
Take more than all, add to kept bodies kept souls--or anarchy,
the mass-disasters.
These things are Progress;
Do you marvel our verse is troubled or frowning, while it keeps
its reason? Or it lets go, lets the mood flow
In the manner of the recent young men into mere hysteria,
splintered gleams, crackled laughter. But they are
quite wrong.
There is no reason for amazement: surely one always knew
that cultures decay, and life's end is death.

There's a distinct unmistakable irony in how our current political leaders have perverted our Declaration of Independence into a declaration of dependence on China, Mexico, Colombia etc.

The push for globalization is entirely antithetical to everything this nation once stood for as a proud independent sovereign country.

Who did our founders tax to fund our fledgling govt? Businesses, not individual citizens. Tobacco growers, breweries, importers, trade tariffs, all forms of commerce both national and international. That's what paid for the Louisiana Purchase.

What about the equal rights of every US citizen whose job was outsourced to Red China, Colombia and Mexico? Apparently their equal rights under the law were outweighed by the comparative handful of greedy CEO's that paid off our elected leaders to pass NAFTA, CAFTA etc into law.

It's no coincidence that our presidents and congressman and women are all millionaires these days.

Their rights to screw their own constituents, betray their oaths of office, spy on whoever they feel like, get rich from insider trading info etc is unlimited.

But our constitutional rights as citizens of the USA?

They've been outsourced, bankrupted, sold to the highest bidder by our own "elected" leaders of both parties. Who are now huge proponents of globalization, foreign dependence, and never ending wars of choice paid for on credit.

Houston, we have a problem....

This is for all you union haters to ponder!

[ QUOTE ]

We the people of the United States, in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.

You want to join the USA's union?

Fine! We welcome you! Provided you meet or exceed the same standards and rights enjoyed in our own country!

Let's start with Canada becoming our 51st state!

Mexico our 52nd! Building Interstate 5 down to Acapulco will put a lot of unemployed citizens to work!

We are citizens! Not mindless consumers!

We will set sustainable living standards that the whole world will emulate of their own free will.

Not at the barrel of a gun!

It's only outside the US MSM bubble that you learn such fascinating and profoundly pertinent world news.

Like China sticking their straw into the Iraq milkshake in the form of crude oil.

Fascinating stuff. We're in debt up to our necks, and burying a few thousand brave US soldiers due to our pre-emptive detour war there.

So that China just kinda slides onto the scene like a well liked brother buzzard, and welcome to a nice haunch of carcass to fatten up on.

But when we get behind closed doors, and she lets her hair hang down......

For those interested in less secrecy and more transparency about what our elected leaders are up to behind closed doors with industrial barons from foreign countries?

http://www.esquire.com/blogs/politics/elizabeth-warren-obamas-trade-representative-062013

Why does both our govt and the MSM insist on acting like NAFTA and CAFTA have been blue ribbon gold plated successes?

Like the repeal of Glass Steagall was good medicine for the middle class American citizen?

It's like a neocon is still in office ordering his propaganda troops to just keep repeating lies nonstop. Sure that in time enough rubes would believe to get away with the deception without peasants with pitch forks knocking down their castle's rusty gates?
