Y'all tell me what's up with these leaves? Herbicide is doubtful. There was a spring drought. I pruned it in big wood (removed a 1.25" leader) last spring/summer, and lightly in small wood this spring. Now this:

@Todo10 I have been able to upload photos, including these, recently with good consistency. Anything change on your end, or is it on my end?

Nothing has been changed. Just the forum style only

Marginal and interveinal chlorosis can be nutritional (Mn, maybe Mg and big maybe K) but can also be a symptom of root dysfunction or vascular disease such as Vert wilt

Is this the correct plan of action?:

1. Excavate surface near trunk to evaluate roots. If roots are girdled, prune roots and apply paclobutrazol. Install auto drip prior to end of rainy season.

2. Whether or not the roots are tidy, test for vert wilt at U Florida plant diagnostics lab. If positive, rip out tree, burn it, and cry. If negative, test soil and airspade the whole root crown the next time I rent a compressor.

No Paclo for J Maples, easily overregulated.

I would just take symptomatic cuttings and dissect, looking for vascular streaking. Lab tests are better though

My understanding there is no effective treatment for Vert wilt, prevention is the best course. Comes from the soil, correct?

One thing to keep in mind is that North North North Northern Florida is the South South South Southernmost plantable range for this species, and the climate is doing nothing but getting warmer. Trees planted at the furthest extents of their growable ranges are having a lot thrown at them on their best days.

Yep. I didn't plant it, but I pruned it twice and am disappointed that this happened. Feels like it was my fault. I sprayed my tools with lysol, but I feel like I should have done more, like watered it during the drought we just exited...
