HELP PLEASE WITH GRAPPLE SAW TRUCK

We purchased a truck that was a dry wall handler . Has a 92 feet Palfinger crane . We have put two different saw heads on it and changed the hydraulic fluid and still wont cut anything bigger then 4-5 inch and that is sporadic . The chain stalls . We have slowed down the bar speed and makes no difference.. I'm wondering if the crane is not the correct application for this use

A couple guesses for you - you may not have sufficient flow or pressure at the head. Check the pressure and flow ratings from the boom manufacturer, make sure the boom is pushing enough oil to run the saw. You may need to install larger lines in the boom, or it is possible the boom cannot handle the saw, as drywall booms are not configured to run a hydraulic motor, they only run a set of tilting forks.

sounds like the pressure relief valve on the circuit you run the saw motor with is set too low, should be able to adjust it up some, 1-200PSI should be enough to make a noticeable difference, but check the system ratings vs what pressure your using before adjusting anything

You’re welcome! And please do keep us updated, I for one would like to know how it turns out. Stick around too, and join the community here. There’s a lot of good people on here, some nuts, and a few crazies, but we’re all pretty much harmless.
