HELP! Looking Into Next Forestry Truck

Location
US
We are looking into our next forestry truck purchase and with so many options out there, want to make sure we make the right decision.

We run a fleet of International trucks with the DT466'S, with trucks ranging from 1997-2003. I have been reading the newer diesels with the emissions requirements have caused some reliability issues. I'm not all that familiar with diesels engines and we are looking for a newer truck, 2004-2011, and could use some insight from guys who have been running these trucks on what the best motors for reliability are.

I've been looking at a few trucks:
• 2010 Freightliner M2 w/ Cummins
• 2005 & 2006 International w/ DT466
• 2004 Sterling Acterra w/ MBE
• 2005 & 2008 GMC 7500 w/ 8.1 Vortec (gas)

Your input & experiences with these trucks is greatly appreciated. All trucks we are considering have between 60' & 75' boom and dumping chip bodies.

Thank you, guys.

When buying used its more about condition and how the truck was maintained than brand. They are all decent, but I'd stay away from the gassers in a truck that heavy.

I've driven a 2011 Freightliner with a 140hp Cummins since it was new. Been highly reliable. Only emissions crap I've had to deal with was having the def dosing valve replaced. Good about a month on 2.5 gallons of def. Truck currently has 12,xxx hours and 66,xxx miles.

Best part about the Freightliner is you have a HUGE field of view when driving or fitting in somewhere tight (goes in more places the the f750 buckets the company also has)
