Hearing protection and enhancement

chiselbit

Been here a while
Anybody have any experience with this? I’ve just started looking at some of the shooters earbuds that also enhance hearing like a hearing aid, anybody used something like this?

I knew one guy that had something like that with his phone buds, so they were "noise canceling" and could act like a hearing aid, all while letting you listen music. Truly living in the future with that shit.

Also heard that. And I should say I’m not real interested in using them for work but more as a cheap hearing aid. I guess I could expand this post to include hearing aids,, any body use them?

Try before you buy.
I have a pair of Peltor Tactical Gun Muffs. They have enhanced volume for ambient listening.
They were designed for a single high volume gun blast; NOT continuous motor noise.

I tried them w/ a lawn mower; they were deafening !

The older litecom ones I used for about 2 years didn't have this issue with our operations. The drawback is that the comm part is 2 way CB, and if the chainsaw or chipper triggered the mic no one could talk but the person with the activated mic. The mic activation volume is adjustable to help with this, and when set this way folks can have a normal conversation while standing next to the chipper.
I think the newer and WAY more expensive ones do not do this.

I use these.

Work great at the range.

Work great around the house mowing and weedwacking

I occasionally use them doing tree work. Mostly when it is really hot.

I like them when I am doing chainsaw training. When I demo a cut I don’t have to fuss with my hearing protection.

I would not consider them cheap hearing aids. The sound that comes through can be a bit harsh. Enough for communication, but not something I would want to listen to for hours.

My .02
