That's a good point too oldirty.

I was also wondering how many of you guys climb keeping a haul bag with you instead of tossing it once you're in the tree? Is there an advantage to keeping it with you?

These bags right here, they are good solid bags. The bags that Mark and Chris are talking about are far superior in durability than these. These are basic nylon rope bags, the others are haul bags made of cordura/ballistic type nylon. They'll last you quite a few years of serious abuse from what im told.

Any one of their Haul packs would be great for dropping out of trees. Just depends on what size. I had a Shield pack that holds 200' of 11mm rope plus some other gear on top.

The nice thing about the haul packs is that they are fairly stiff and facilitate a climber flaking the rope back in faster and easier. This might be nice if you have one climber just cutting, and another climber setting the rigging and then descending to the ground. They can reload their rope quickly and be ready for the crane when it comes back to take them to the next piece.

BOSTON BULL,, relax, you seem to have alot to say on everything that i post. i stumbled upon you over there and said something, not tryin to take it personal or anything but take it easy on your attacks. we are all just the same guys tryin to get the same job done.

I'd like to formally invite you to come to our shop and see how we work. Then I might give your opinion a bit of weight. Until then, don't knock it till you try it, oldirty.
