Has Anyone Done California Forest Fire Clean Up?

Interested in talking with anyone that has done this kind of work, either for private land owners or for state agencies? What kind of wear and tear on equipment have you experienced?
Are working conditions especially bad on the ground?
What kind of hazards are you seeing more of?
What is the process like to register with CalFire?

Can post here, or talk offline.

Thanks in advance,

I've done firefighting in CA (but just a slug on the crew, so not doing any organization in that endeavor) and a little bit of post-fire clean-up in Ohio (still as a slug).

Charred wood is tough on chains and the dust is tough on engines. Lots of black boogers too at the end of the day.

Lots of widowmakers and trees that break sooner than you might expect...more maybe stronger than you'd expect. Behaves different than decayed wood. Burned out stumps and roots leaving unexpected holes in the ground.
