I see your point. Normally I wouldn't even post on these types of things but I have a bit of time on my hands this week

So what is a knee ascender legally?
Omg there isn't a soul on this forum that's as bad as that motherf#cker ........hey wait a minute........Is that Paul!?Haha, wtg fellas. How about a system composed of these turtle ladders for springy ascent:

Paired with this lanyard:
Do you think either falls under patent?
The freaking original HAAS works too sweet....it is ok on a runner but is brilliant on my wrench setup....flawless smooth as hell and never misses a beat...folds up nicely and hangs out the way on a small caritool on my harness...I want nothing elseI had just the opposite impression of the HAAS when it first came out. Even though I have known about and used knee ascenders for a long time, the HAAS was different and in my opinion, better. The biggest difference was in combining the bungee with the semi-rigid tube, both of which assist in its advancing up the rope. Having the bungee protected inside the tube and extended below the ascender and under tension was also new to me. Knee ascenders have been around for a long time but not in this form and I had found most to be too fiddly for anything but a major ascent.
Now this may not mean squat to most of you but my first impression was wow, what a cool idea, backed up by, hey, this thing works great.
Ha ha....lolOmg there isn't a soul on this forum that's as bad as that motherf#cker ........hey wait a minute........Is that Paul!?
What I was saying in the other thread was basically, I buy x rings, and I use a Haas. If I thought a better product came out somewhere else I would use it. I will spend my money with people who have worked hard to bring something to the industry that wasn't there before. I will not spend my money with the second people who say, "but mine works like this"I thought everyone knew... It was ME who invented the knee ascender.
It was a cold morning in the foothills of the Swiss Alps, 1902. Carl Prussic and I were drinking brandy discussing the nature of infinity.....
....Ah who really cares anyways.
Nope.Well you're a good boy scout Mac, do you want a badge?
two sides to stories, and only one of them posts on the buzz regularly.
I know his daughter. Made a mess of the family too.Robert Kearns.....patent warfare cost him his marriage and his health (nervous breakdown). Interesting article. I remember watching the movie, and the early feelings of sympathy I had for the guy turned into....."what a jerk".

Direct correlation between number of posts on treebuzz and level of integrity.
The basic ascenders used are generic, it's how the bottom section is built that makes any of the knee ascender devices unique. Don't see any conflict between the HASS and the SAKA patent-wise, haven't heard that there is one.
