Gun oil

I just want to share a test I just did on some oils that I have used on firearms as well as every other time I need to put a dab of oil on something. I heard about Modern Spartan Systems "accuracy oil" in a podcast and my first thought was the guy is just selling snake oil. The claims were so outlandish that I thought it couldn't be true. I stumbled across a bottle of this stuff in a local sporting goods store and brought it home. I played around with it for a while and decided I needed to really test it against other oils to see if it was different. I am attaching the video I made while testing. There are no tricks here, no slight of hand. I have absolutely nothing to gain by sharing this other than to share something that I think is exceptional.

I am going to try out some of their other products as well.

This is the company website: https://modernspartansystems.com/

This is my test video:

Interesting video, but I am not sure that a lubricant that functions best as a cutting oil would be the best for use as an overall gun oil?

I have used Militec-1 in the past with great success on race guns, but others I know hate the stuff LOL

I'm not sure where you infer the cutting oil aspect.

This test was purely friction based.

I am very impressed with it's ability to decrease friction, prevent galling. I have used it on numerous metal to metal contact points with great success.

I did use it to lube my ARC Mausingfield PRS style bolt gun that I ran in a weekend field match in extreme rain conditions and it performed very well.

I don't have any negative observations at this point about protective qualities as far as oxidation goes. I'll keep an eye on that.

There are some interesting claims that the company makes in regards to their cutting oil. I haven't tried any of that yet.

I used to buy the "latest, greatest" oils about once a year. I'm glad to say I'm finally cured.

Now I use synthetic ATF. A $6 quart lasts about 10-15 years. And you can use it on everything from air tools to bearings.

For autoloaders, I use grease where appropriate...
