Groundmen needed in MD for Arbor-X. Climbers?

We could use one or two more groundmen.

Small company, in business since 1995.

We do everything that has to do with trees.

Our customers care about quality of work and our skill, not a low price.

Employees are paid very well, much better than the "big" names in tree services.

BUT... We are picky. If you are smart and hard working, you will like it here. If you are dumb, we will be hard on you and you will want to quit.

See our videos on youtube, just removal stuff right now, sorry, removals are exciting to the general population, verses trimming, cabling and airspading.

type in search words, ARBOR-X , on youtube to find them.

our website is very very outdated, don't judge us on that.

We never run out of work, work year round, no lay-offs. Right now we are doing work from August 2011. Very behind.

Nice equipment, owner works with the crew and is not detached from the reality of the work day.

We beleive in good expensive equipment to make our day easier on the body.

Saftey is number one priority.

Click on my user name, then find website, then find web-site e-mail contact address, then write to my e-mail address. Don't PM me here, as PM's get filled up.

Oh, also looking for another climber if they can do any type of climbing and rigging. No opening for a beginner or moderate climber right now.

Groundman with NO experience = around $14.00

Groundman with good experience = around $20

Groundman with excellent experience and never stupid= $25/hr.

climber, that can do EVERYTHING efficiently (NO feeling of needing to back down from a task given to them) and do it at the estimated job time or BETTER and always responsible and show up = $34/hr.

good question and it does happen time to time.

I am the estimater, not some guy that is removed many years from the work.

Most of my removal estimate times are within a half hour of the actaul time spent on the job.

If I'm going to underestimate a job, it is usaully my trimming estimates, because we find more problems when up in the tree. But I've been improving on my underestimated trimming jobs.

I know when I'm wrong most of the time, plus workers can explain why it took so long and if legit reason, I understand.

I am suprized you guys think those prices are high. I didn't think they were low, but nice to see you like those figures.

I think climber pay range can be from $18 to $40. $18 is a beginning climber, $40 is one that can do everything, plus be on damage control for the whole crew -stoping everyone from making mistakes, plus can talk excellent to customers and also prevent equipment failure and breakdowns.

We can set up a few days or a week, just for you to test us out and for us to test you out.

How about it? Before work gets crazy busy for you? Take a few days off and come here? You will never know unless you try.

I'll come down there for35/hr... what's the health benefit package look like ?

Got my cdlA and hoisting license . If you really need a certified arborist i am sure i can pass the very next test offered if you feel it necessary.

No better way to slay the beast than to bring him to your own turf and have the opportunity to see for yourself.

lol

What town are you in?

Bel Air, Maryland. We work mostly in our county, Harford County. But also go to Baltimore County and a sometimes Cecil County. Longer trips rarily, sometimes to good paying customers far away, like Montgomery county, MD.

If you are serious, I'm interested in talking more. Best to e-mail me, PM's get full here, as I like to keep really old ones saved from years ago. So, not much space.

Things i'd like to know, do you only want to work crane assisted removals? Or do you like to rope rig and trim also?

Just asking your preference and if willing to do everything.

It could work out. Ed was a big talker too, but in person we got along just great. Okay at medium skilled rigging and got things done as estimated or better. Didn't seem to have good background experience in trimming. This all made sense, since he was always a contract climber.

You work for someone full time, so maybe you do all types of climbing? Or do they just put certain people on the same task every day?

you can answer in e-mail

Thanks,

It is different for the different skill levels and education. We have about 7 different schedules and times for what and when the benefit starts.

somewhat farm country where i live, with several larger towns. Towns get a bit congested with traffic at rush hour.

Rolling hills here. Small mountains in the Western part of our state, but not here. Mountains are 2 hrs West. Then, 1.5 to 2 hours East are flat land and beaches on the Ocean. We have a very large river and Bay that cuts up through our state. Susquahanna river is near us, maybe 10-12 minutes away.

Big military base somewhat nearby, recently large base in NJ dried up and came here to join this one.

Maybe that's why there is still money in this area.

Historic homes in my area and old farms.

If you ever open a office in Montgomery County (where the real money is) let me know. Your wages are way above the standard.

OldDirty,

Maryland just became a state that accepts Gay marriage.

That might be a big incentive for you to come work here.

I am going to being practicing for my Arbor-X interview this weekend. A black cherry climb not very big but I have not "production" climbed in about 4 months. Let you know if I am ready on Sunday.

Cuttenwolf,

Good to hear!

MattyD is supposed to take it easy another 2 months on his shoulder.

I'm getting burned out on tree work. Really need some help.

I would like to have two climbers this year (not counting me) and allow me to work on producing arborist tools and just do the fun interesting removals and such

I hope you stayed in shape and haven't gotten old or anything!

NO ONE has contacted me yet for an interview. Well, not from treebuzz. Got a college graduate coming up for graduation that sounds like he could be part of the X-Men.
