Ground Damage

I agree Jeff, but then there is still a stump. The zero impact customer almost always wants the stump gone and the hole filled. So a few localized divits will not hurt. At the same time a slight savings can be had from not rigging every piece of wood. When that's the goal then it's time to pay for a crane. Just rambling a bit ....

Guess what I'm trying to say is there's a fine line or balance to what clients are willing to except. Around here everyone looks to saving a dollar to some degree. Even those who are loaded still look to save.

It took me years to learn how to write an estimate that eliminated confusion

In the end I wrote up ala carte estimates with options and prices.

From White Glove...vacuum the sAwdust all the way to Cut n Run. There was a little description of the options too so there were no surprise or complaints

Having payment held hostage because of a misunderstanding is frustrating all around

Doing the ala carte estimate also set me apart from the rest of the bidders. It was clear what I was going to do or not do

I agree 100%, and that's my point: When they have single price bids from the local Hackem & Bail Tree and Dewey, Cheatem & Howe Lawn Damage, they presume that those low bids will be for the same level of service as your top notch bid. When you give them several price points, like Tom's White Glove to Cut n Run options, often they'll realize the shit show the other guys are selling.
