Grapple

We will be purchasing a 60" rotating grapple. I know this has been discussed but I'd like to know who prefers bmg and Ryan's. the cost looks pretty close for both and a local bobcat dealer is selling the Ryan's. Has anyone modified one to fit a mini ex as well as a skidsteer? Any input is great!

I used the 50" BM grapple for 50 hours on a Gehl AL540, never had any issues with it, but went back to running the non hydro rotating HD BMG.

If it were up to me, I would buy the grapple and rotator and custom build my own hanger with the idea of swapping it over to the ex as easily as practical.

I have a 100hp track loader as well as a 5-6 ton mini ex. For the mini ex, my plan is to use the HD BMG grapple only, and put a rotator on top of it (unless I buy a tilt rotator first).

What are you running them on? My track loader is a Mustang MTL325 (Tak TL250) and my ex is a Kubota KX057.

I have a kx 057 as well and an asv 100.

How much are we talking to buy the grapple and rotator?

After having three lesser quality grapples in the past, I bought Ryan's 72" grapple for the Cat 287B. I have used (ok, maybe abused) it for the past four years and it has been totally reliable. When I first got it, my ground guy thought it was way too big to be practical, but now he tells me its one of the best investments we've ever made, and I believe he's right. If you have a big machine like the ASV 100, you will need a grapple built like the Ryan's. You won't be disappointed if you choose it.

Thanks treeweasel that's what I was looking for. Although I'd love to say we will be picking daisys with the grapple, the reality is its going to be used. If you don't mind my asking how much was the 72" Ryan?

Jason,
I believe back then it was around $8,500. I would spend it again in a second. The BSG is well made, but I liked the arch on the Ryan's better. If you were to set the two side by side, you would immediately see the difference. I will be a great fit for your machine. Let us know what you decide. Best of luck.

Could you get me a price on a grapple for a bobcat mt52, as well as the HD non rotator you use? Shipped to Hadley ma. Thanks, Jason

Small world. We actually bought our rear mount from northern. I own my own small company. We are in Hadley but just bought a shop in Sunderland.

The prices are fairly even around $8500 retail, and either are eligible for my 2% forum discount.

What's your time frame? I can check on availability tomorrow.
