Gonna be off-line for 2-3 days....

My wife and I are taking a little time off. We've had a whirlwind summer so far - nothing like what I was expecting.

Saturday morning I went over to Bruce Smith's house (On Rope owner) to help him (more like so he could help me) take down a dead tree. We had to rig it and lower it, thankfully everything went like clockwork and nobody got a scratch on them. Unfortunately the hard part of my day was just about to begin. My dog, Tangle, seriously injured her back chasing a cat. She could hardly move. We took here to an emergency clinic and it took about 4 hours to get finished.

The injury doesn't require surgery, but I have to keep Tangle in a crate to keep her immoble for four weeks - it's tearin' my heart out. She loves to play, run, and jump; she's older now, and she'll never be able to do some of the things she loves to do.

So anyway, my wife, myself, and Tangle are gonna 'get-away' for a few days, hopefully for some quite recovery. I won't have access to a computer I don't think so I'll miss 'seeing' you guys for a while.

Please be safe, I can't take anybody gettin' hurt right now.

One good thing though, when I get back, my computer will have a dual-core, high speed processor, 8Gigs of RAM, and a high performance graphics card - all specifically chosen for enhanced video editing.

Gonna give my old computer to a young man that is essentially disabled and has little to do. He gets around pretty good, but has no car and is in a tough situation. I gave him one of my video cameras and I think he's found himself a new hobby. When he gets my old computer with the video editor on it, he'll be spending many hours a day doing something he's lovin'!

That's all? I just built a system based around the Intel i-920 quad core processor (8 cores with hyperthreading) that only cost about $1200...which included a 5770 1 gb graphics card, and 12 gb of triple core memory. 4 hard drives totaling 5 TB....

Go big or go home, lol....

Both my new SLR's shoot full HD video, and the still files total close to 40 mb each, as I shoot in both raw and jpeg....hard drives fill fast!!

Yeah, sorry about your dog. I'm a dog guy and I can only imagine how much it sucks. I hope it all works out for the little lady. Enjoy the R&R.

Make the most of your time away...you'll be back soon enough and wonder where it all went.

All the best to you pup. I'm a dog and horse man myself (the original 4-wheel drive!). Dogs are cheaper, but there is somethin' about ridin'...

And, if you have your mutt trailin' along...the best!
