Go Pro or Contour Roam?

I am digging my Contour Roam, low profile works for me. Easy to use. Super minimal compared to GoPro so if you want lots features: GoPro. Definitely unhappy that I can't swap the battery out of the Roam whenever it runs out of recharges. I've already smacked it pretty hard with branch, kept on ticking.

Video quality is excellent, I set it at the highest res and will leave it there. No point in shooting low res video.

I had to reposition the Roam on my helmet quite a bit before I got it where I wanted (no helmet parts appearing in the video) and pointed down enough to show my hands when I look down to fiddle with gear.

Drift is what I use. The new Drift Ghost looks awesome. The remote that goes on your wrist now has a light to show whether you are recording or not.

Also the drift ghost is out of the box water proof to a certain depth I can't remember what the number is. I believe the gopro you need to have a different case.

Also has a replaceable lens. A lot smaller and lower profile than the gopro.

I would really recommend looking into the drift.

I have seen your videos and they are very well done. Sometimes I am not sure all of the resolution is that important as they get compressed anyway to be put on the web right? So some of the GoPro claims and others may not matter. I do like the interface with my phone. I was doing some boomerang practice and will try to get my first GoPro video together.
I discovered today also that the made in China SD card I have may not be the best, at one point the camera would not read the card. Back to the store I go to buy a bigger and better card.

There is a lot to be said for the low profile spoken of here, seems I am always hitting the camera on something.

Played around today with making picture in picture with the phone mounted on a tripod and wearing the GoPro on my helmet.

Thanks!

You'd think so but... I always shoot at the highest quality setting my camera will do. The way it works is when you compress it down for the web if you start with garbage it will be super stinky garbage once it's compressed. So if you want your video to still be reasonably clear and smooth on youtube or wherever you post it, you want to start from the best quality source video when you do your editing and output the video for upload. Likewise a higher frame rate will capture motion and detail better so it's all good to have it if your camera will do it.
