gloves?

Funny you should mention that stuff Doctor L. I also wear neoprene knee supports (sleaves) and can unblinkingly kneel down to grab mass amounts of brush, get under the truck or chipper quickly (keys in my pocket and completely shut down of course). My friend Chad Brey also turned me on to shin guards. Man, when I'm climbing I can crotch my shin without injury. They've saved me from stuff slammin into my shins countless times. In the summer, just like anything else, you get used to it and for me, the protection these things offer has paid for them tenfold. Whiz

Kristian, are you talking to yourself again? Just kiddin', bra. As for the rest of our crew, we all like the uglies or similar gloves, they save a lot of effort on trees with a lot of up and down work, IMO.

dude i thought those where my secret weapon. volleyball kneepads are the best too. especially, gaffing the knee lock is key

I like the nitrile coated thin gloves. They wear better then the latex, are washable, nice tackiness for gripping the rope, don't tear if drawn into the friction hitch and are reasonably priced. They last about month and half to two.

I use the North nitrile NF13s. They now have a version that is made of kevlar instead of nylon. When I run out of my current supply I'm going to give these a try.

I tried the Atlas gloves first but, like you found they didn't last very long. HR, I'm trying to imagine you with the Atlas 370 Pink gloves on.

Same here TrEeVeRdE, nitril conducts heat very readily so they get hot quickly.

when climbing i always wear atlas gloves and for guys that dont climb with gloves these gloves save energy man nice grip on the rope only usually last a week or 2 but well worth it and i use them for everything except running a rope which is rare ill use leather gloves im very organized with my gear so i always have both pairs of gloves in my bag and always have extras.

If you all are not familiar with Gemplers or LSS they are a good resource for the Nitrile coated gloves. They come in under 5 bucks a pair. Both companies are owned by Grainger you can Google either name. Although they are all owned by the same parent Co. they do seem to compete a little with product. Just FYI.

I only wear gloves for footlocking. Other then that I ruin my hands on the daily because I can't stand the discomfort / heat in the warmer months. Maybe I'll just dip my hands in liquid latex. I've done it with other body parts every saturday night so I can't imagine dipping my hands into it being a problem.

Thanks for the visual FT.....

Nitrile is great for cut resistance, durability, a grip. You can't wear them when running ropes because they conduct heat very well. I learned this when they got so hot I had to take them off immediately.... OUCH!
