Gearing up for next spring

I'm not big on cheaper is better, but I found this gem.

They have a diaphragm pump option too.

I see it's not a Honda engine, getting clarification on that before I pull the trigger.
I'd be curious to see what engine is with that... If it is something cheap and unreliable, it can make the entire setup very frustrating!

I have heard good things about Maruyama pumps. I think the only reason you would want a diaphragm pump instead of a piston pump is if you're going to fertilize. Otherwise, that seems like a great option especially at that price point and with an aluminum frame... As long as the engine is worth it.

EDIT to add: If you are buying one with a Honda engine, pay attention to which engine it is. Without more digging, I'm pretty sure the GX are the one that better quality sprayers have always used. But some lower grade units are starting to use GP engines to still have a Honda but try to keep the price down...

Yeah gx is the good ones, as a mechanic I wouldn't bother with the other lower end ones. I'm curious too. I know the Rota ones are basically the same as the predator HF engines. I think the diaphragm pump option is like $150 more, which is what I'd go with.

I priced out parts and can build one for around $1750, including building a frame myself though it would be steel as I don't feel like buying argon and a tig torch for one project. At this price it's worth not having to mess with it.
