Yes, but it may be a little loose. The current standard bridge sheath is similar. There is nothing wrong with this. It is a little 'lumpy' when brand new, but soon smooths out.
The idea of the funky bridge sheath, is a tight fit for a very smooth glide and customisable colour. This helps in training, as the trainee can receive clear colour related instructions, and the trainer can see what is attached to easily at a distance (if a bright colour sheath is used). Colour co-ordination can be achieved for the fashion conscious : )
By untaping the sheath periodically, the webbing bridge and stitching can be inspected.
As the sheath wears, it can be easily replaced.
Not using a sheath isn't recommended, as the stitching will receive unnecessary wear.
