First Time Granddad

Yep, it's finally happened, I'm a granddad for the first time.

My oldest daughter gave birth to her son this morning. Hale and healthy 7 lbs. Now when do I get my AARP card!?

Thanks guys, yep we're already talking about getting him in the trees. I think the first gear will be something akin to a jolly jumper!

Pics are on my Facebook page. I've yet to see him in person since mom and the baby are in Toronto. Got a road trip in the works for the end of March to visit.

I'm a young GD, I adopted my daughter when she was about 8. She's done well coming to this stage in her life and I'm very proud of her.

One of my other daughters was there through the whole birth and actually cut the umbilical cord. Dad couldn't be there since he's still in Mexico. We're the NAFTA family!

Congrats TH! I became a Grandfather last June. It is awesome to watch your kids become parents, let alone falling in love with the new arrival. My only problem is distance. That 1100 mile trip is killer. We miss a lot of the little things in that wonderful first year development. No matter what the i-phone commercial says, it sucks to not be there in person.

True enough, it's a 500 mile trip for us until she moves back to Cancun, then it's even further! By hey, now I've got a great excuse to go to Mexico!
