Reggie big fellaa!!!

Mate,nice work as per usual!!

I have a question to ask you and by all means shoot me down if I offend your self (def no intent).

Here goes.....Do you get more enjoyment out of the filming and editing the process of the work you do, or by doing the actuel tree work first hand?

You do a great job of both.

Chops

You're the real thing Chopper, I'd never be offended.

To answer, dont enjoy either that much. The work part is just my job since i was 17. The video stuff really helped me market the equipment I'm involved in producing....and although not related so much these days, I have lots of subscribers to the channel, and more everyday still....so I feel I should still put stuff out there if its not too much trouble.

Of course if I was talking zigsags, tethers and spiderjaks they'd be way more poplular, on the forums especially....but thats never going to happen. Just whacking trees, thats all!

Assuming that you're primarily a takedown climber Reg, I'd be interested in knowing/learning why you prefer a floating bridge saddle over a traditional 4 D ring saddle?

Thanks for posting,

Thanks Jon,

I still prune trees to....and tip-reducing big firs can be a lot more work than hardwoods ever were, I find. Mobility outweighs the other....and have been using a bridge now since I first heard about them.

nice vid reg,
did that log make it to the mill?
not much point in using a humboldt otherwise..
though seems many west coasties just prefer the humboldt out of habit..

stay well

Not sure about the mill Dan, HO said he sold the log to his neighbor without elaborating.

you could argue, not much point in making a conventional? Big heavy log like that, wouldn't matter either way.

Jareds a faller. In BC, the Humboldt, or Swanson as it more often referred is the standard falling cut. The conventional doesn't really figure.

If a person is more comfortable or accurate using one or the other, then they should probably stick to that. Play to your strengths. Thanks

You got it Reg, you should still put stuff out there, if not for Stein anymore, for the subscribers and fans follow from around the world.

Once you put out the vid of The Stein Dual, answering pretensioning questions, I figured something was up. I think a lot more of us wanted to see the human side of you after all those intense rigging vids of the past.

For me, now I get to see how you do some of the same type of trees I have here. That's helpful. The work or vid might not be as complex or unique at first sight, but there's always a story to a tricky tree or job.

Righto Reggie...

Do your time over and you were 17 again....what would you do ??

I know what I would do...

[/ QUOTE ]

I've often thought I would do this and that differently chopper....but even if I could turn the clock back, you cant put an old head on young shoulders. Would probably make the same mistakes all over. When alls said, I was just lucky that someone gave me a job at the time with some worth about it.
