Favorite Prusik Cord

ocean polyester both 10mm and 8mm

I like 8mm with my poison ivy becasue it runs so smooth. 10mm for other things that I spliced up like footlock prusiks and friction savers.

I'm a 3/8 tennex man myself. They burn up faster than a lot of others but it runs so smooth. I love the idea of the 8mm lines (hrc, beeline, and OP) but being a big guy (220lbs) they tend to sieze up on me. The 10mm OP and beeline are nice though.

10mm beeline with 1/2 ropes and 8mm beeline and HRC with 7/16 ropes. for me it depends on the rope diameter. i find 8mm hitch cords bite down too hard and wear out faster on 1/2 inch ropes. 8mm is better for 7/16. 10mm cord is dramatically smoother on 1/2 ropes.

Lately I've gone back to rocking out some icetail and have been pleased with it. It's a little bulkier and stays round and bites well and just feels good and I don't burn my fingers near as much.

Thanks to all who have posted your favorite cord so far. The reason I asked was because my current 3/8" beeline is wearing out and I was wondering what to try next.

I think I will try a couple of 20' sections from Wesspur 5/16" ice and 3/8 Ocean. That should keep me kicking for a while.

Hey man try treestuff.com out....way cheaper for the ocean polyester and will get to you faster if you are located in NC.

Luke is a good guy at treestuff and I hate to do this to him but when it comes to buying cordage you gotta go with the guy that lives rope and go with knot and rope supply.

No offense guys, but I have a coupon for WesSpur that will make it cheaper.

Generally speaking is it safe to say that the smaller diameter cordage is better for smaller diameter rope?
