Cordless vrs. gas vrs corded drills w/ Grcs

I've tried all manner of the largest cordless drills on my GRCS. They dont work.
I have a Tanaka gas powered drill which works great.
But for the highest speed in turning the capstan I use a huge "arm breaker" electric drill that I have.
This will spin the capstan real quick. I like to use it for yarding brush and logs up hills and for winching a climber up a tree.

Re: Cordless vrs. gas vrs corded drills w/ Grcs

I'm starting to realise that a 24v won't do the job. I took down a large macracarpa yesterday and saw the effort that the groundie had to put in to get some meduim size sections to move. As I said before I don't get to use the GRCS myself so I don't get the feel of how much goes into it. How much power output does your "arm breaker have". The bit is being made using the shank from an 8mm hex key (allen key) so it will fit a drill nicely. Then I'll have to decide what drill to get. There seem to be plenty of corded drills on the market with 600-750W output. Getting me back up there after lunch might be its hardest job!

I do use the drill once in a while, but that's because I have it. I don't use it enough for this alone to go and purchase a gas drill. I used to use it just for threaded rods and through bolts in bracing. Since it's on the truck, I'll use here and again.
