Fall Color

Hickory ... great smokin wood and tough, used for garden toll handles, bloody tough stuff mate ... although I've never seen a hickory tree.

Stop on by, Erik. I've got better'n a dozen of 'em in my couple acres of "yard"! Shagbark /and/ bitternut. As well some of their cousins; black walnut.

I lived just down the valley from Steamboat for a few years a while back. It seemed like there was little more than a six hour window if one wanted to catch the color of the "quakies".
