Why not make a fairly closed humboldt notch? It shoud close fast and break off fast--it will push the tree back for sure, but I don't think it would move near as much as a open face notch or a conventional notch. The open faced notch would be the worst idea in my opinion. I dropped a big pine top once with an open face notch and it shook the crap out of me. I would also be wary of the "salami cut" if it is a really big cut. I've had them get hairy as well. If you are using a high-line you are going to have to worry about that line getting snagged in addition to you getting out of the way.
