Extendable hook

I took a golf ball retriever. https://t.golfgalaxy.com/p/pro-line...texl18rtrvr/ultimatexl18rtrvr?uniqueID=393937 I drilled out the screws holding the golf ball retriever and epoxied a drill quick change https://www.acmetools.com/shop/tool...r8XcO2SXk_LFxOttF32SgPSR9PygX3qhoCeRAQAvD_BwE adapter. Then you can change bent rods and have a pole that can reach up to 18 feet, weighs 20 ounces, and collapses to 20 inches. It can’t lift much weight without collapsing back on itself but can pull well and will place a throwball over a limb and pull it back.

Hi all, Noob here... Just started climbing trees a few months ago and I'm hooked! Speaking of hooked...

It seems like having some kind of telescoping, lightweight hook at the end of a stick would open up a lot of rope advancement possibilities. Has anybody found anything cheap to use for this purpose? I'm not looking for heavy duty vertical advancement poles... more like something that I can reach out with laterally to grab the other end of a lanyard or rope that's been tossed over a branch. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Hello welcome and I’m happy to help. There are a lot of choices most of them are very expensive. But the best thing for your buck that reaches the farthest would be Greenlee FP18 18' Fiberglass Fish Pole. It’s like 90 dollars but it’s the most compact which gets down to 27 inches and the longest it gets is 18 feet. Something longer then that is very expensive and not as compact. Also the tip would be so tiny you can’t do anything with it. So it’s pointless I’ve done a lot of research on this. If you have to reach past 18 feet your better off using a throw line and a grapnel. This green Lee already has a hook so it’s ready to go. I was looking at all the other post and this is the best thing out there.
