European Standards and us!?

One thing to keep in mind is that the en standards doesn't mean that they don't meet the ANSI standards. What I mean is that they can only mark the equipment with the standard. If the standard is 22KN, they cant mark it with 40KN (in some circumstances) just because it is strong enough.

I guess, also that's why even the dist. reps. (and us of course also) now have to go further and check the exact load rating in KN's, which is only sometimes given in the instruction pamphlet of each specific product, and if not given in the pamphlet we have to check with the manuf. rep. So then for example, the actual load rating of the Grillon and the Sidestraps is 15Kn, yet they still meet the EN358 standard which could include other products with different KN ratings, right? Is this what you mean?
