Sweet Pics! On your second attachment I noticed something with your hinge wood. It appears that your back cut was below your notch. Am I seeing that correct?
E.regnans are one of the largest trees in the world. Unfortunately all the big ones ( In Tasmania )have been harvested. They can grow over 100m. /forum/images/graemlins/shocked.gif
It ain't all that cold right now, it was stupid freezing last week though. I need a vacation, been wearing my "estimating suit" too long, I feel the need for shorts and a T shirt. The Land of Oz sounds nice right about now, if only I could convince the Mrs..........

Whenever I am felling trunk sections I make the cuts level, a norrow hinge is used and this makes accuracy easier. The scarf cut is also deeper than the center of the log to make it tip off alot easier.
