Job Posting – Estate Arborist
Large, private estate located in west central Connecticut seeks a full-time, permanent, Arborist to maintain its woody ornamentals. These include trees and shrubs at all stages of development as well as formal Tillia and Carpinus hedges.
Responsibilities
Ability to safely lead a crew in storm damage remediation, felling and pruning operations
Overall tree/shrub PHC, pruning and maintenance
Roping/climbing, rigging and lowering of takedowns
Hedge work – corrective pruning, renovation of mature plantings
Spraying/scouting (IPM) -diagnosis of rose disorders and treatment, fruit orchard pest and disease management
Equipment operation - truck, chipper, tractor, lift
Requirements
Minimum of 5 years experience.
A positive attitude
Great attention to detail
Knowledge of corrective pruning practices
Safety conscious
Ability to attain very high standards
Ability to lift 40 lbs.
Withstand exposure to inclement weather conditions
Valid driver’s license, CDL preferred
ISA certification, applicators license preferred
