ErgoLite Bridge Retrofit?

I'm full of questions today.

I have the original ErgoLite saddle with steel shackles and the Buckingham spliced, warp speed, dyneema bridge.

They now make the saddle with rigging plates, like its big brother the Ergovation, and a knotted rope bridge.

In my mind the knotted rope bridge is a superior design because of ease and cost of replacement. Also, there is plenty of talk here on the buzz about why dyneema is less than ideal in the rope bridge application.

I am wondering if anyone has any ideas on how to retrofit the ErgoLite in order to use a knotted rope bridge, similar to the way folks figured out how to change the "Cougar" to the "Liger"?

And am I correct in thinking that using a knotted bridge with the steel shackles is a bad idea? I think that the sizing would work, but I believe there would be an awful lot of abrasion between the saddle nylon where the shackles attach and the rope bridge, potentially damaging a part of the saddle that cannot be replaced?

Thoughts? I'll give you a penny...

Mike - no, I am not on SpaceBook.

But I'm glad you chimed in, because didn't you put together a custom attachment for your ErgoLite where you can one-hand a fistful of party mix from the Tupperware hanging off your right hip?

I'd like to see a picture of that setup.

Hey
Mike from Preservation Tree had let me know a little while ago that this was a topic of discussion. I modified my Edge saddle earlier in the year to accommodate a rope bridge. There is a bit of cutting and sewing required, but I feel confident in my stitching and decided to go for it.
I'm relatively new to the buzz board and I want to post a pic or 2 for ya, but I have to figure out how.

Welcome to the buzz Damean!

Thanks for posting the picture. That looks slick.

So, is the only stitching you took out and re-sewed on the tab that keeps the one adjustable strap from backing out through the buckle?

What size twist clevis did you use?

Thanks!
