Employment Opps

I have been in the industry for 1.5 years now, I am a ok climber that just lacks experience, great PHC person that has ran company PHC programs. I have a college degree in horticulture as well am ISA certified. I just left a company today because of its lack of ethics and commitment to its employees and their tree work. This seems to be an ongoing problem. I have ended up in these unhappy work places quite often, this was my third job since I have graduated, and I am looking for job ops near NE as well as any ideas on how to find a quality work enviornment that isnt full of favortism, greed and lacking in quality tree work.

Responses will be greatly appreciated.

Seems like there's a buttload of jobs in NE right now. As far as the perfect job?- if you want something done right , do it yourself! Until you have the capital and experience to be self employed you're going to have to put up with some degree of crap no matter who you work for. It's gonna be up to you to make your workplace better for yourself and others.

Ask yourself this......... "Where do I want to be in 20 or 30 years" How long do you really think you are going to be physically able to perform before you have to assume a desk job......

Then write down on paper all the skills a person in that position should have. If unsure find people in the position and ask "what skill/s do I need to do what you do?" What skill sets will make you more appealing to a potential employer than most? I don't want to burst you bubble but college, while important, has a half-life.

That my friend is what your resume will have to look like.

Keep that in mind when ever you take on a new job or employer. Every step you take should reflect a step up on your resume. You will no doubt have a few side steps in regard to salary or even make a "little less" to gain that valuable experience needed to round out your resume.

DO NOT TAKE A JOB THAT IS NOT ON YOUR CHECK LIST OF SKILL SETS NECESSARY TO ACHIEVE YOUR DREAM JOB. Unless of course you are in dire straights and no other course of action available to you.

Stay focused and as Raven said "you're going to have to put up with some degree of crap no matter who you work for".
