edelrid saddle

Does anyone have any info about the Tree Magic saddle from Edelrid? I tried a search, but found nothing. It seems like someone posted some pics of it a few months back.

thanks,

Great saddle, I am tottally happy with mine, seems to hang much better from my hips than my B-fly and the back adjustment helps to hold it to my hips when slinging around bigger saws. More equipment loops than you can shake a stick at. small buckles (nice feature) and the saddle holds your body at a great angle, does'nt hold you away from the rope like the new Tree Austria seems to do. Altho I did'nt do much adjusting of the straps when I tried out the new TA. Greg Good may have a few of these Edelrids (tree magic) for sale. There are several different models, one with two main delta rings for primary attachments, one with three...

Thank you. Have either of you seen, or used the Kolibri multi-slide(hummingbird)? I think it's made by Edelrid too. the pics of it look awesome.

I did some looking into this sadddle about 6 months back. I thought it looked awesome as well. However, from the people i spoke w/ about it; I did not recieve rave reviews. As well as it was going to cost 400. Only place i could find it was over at FreeWorker in Germany. Too much tax and shipping.

The new Edelrid/tree magic looks awesome. I'm not gonna pick it up until i can try it out first though. Hopefully in a couple of months at our chapter meetings. David w/ Oklahoma Arborist Supply will have one for me.
If anyone is in the need for one Go directly to David; he has the saddle from what he tells me. He's member both here and at AS.. Screen name is Okietreedude.

Hey Brandon,
Thanks for the put up! :)

As for the saddles (Tree Magic and Tree Austria 2), both are special order items at this time but will probably end up being put into stock if there seems to be enough interest.

Ive been climbing on a TA1 for a couple months now and DO like it, but have not yet seen the TA2. I know they did some modifications to the leg straps.

If anyone does want one, let me know and Ill be happy to send one to you.

Thanks,

I've been very interested in the Tree Magic since it came out. And I've been unable to get any visuals of the 2 versions, i.e., D rings and D rings on the bridge. Can you supply such pics? And what would we be paying here in the US?

When I was at Expo I talked with a couple of Euro arbos about the TA2. they said that they liked the TA1 better. Right now, I can't remember the reasons for their preferences.

I'm also waiting on more info on this steve but for now I think we should state that it is not the harness that may or may not need strengthening, its just the chainsaw attachment loops. I wouldn't want anyone to worry about the safety of the harness as a whole.

As I understand it new versions of the harness will have stronger attachments for chainsaws, but the origainal is not being re called. Some one else appears to know different, we'll see.

the bridge webbing actually is an endless loop round the harness so like you say rupe, theres no safety issue there.
i think they need to put the stitching on the gear loops through the plastic insert in the back pad.
