Echo on the battery bandwagon.

Thanks for posting this. I read through all of the reviews on the H.D. website, and it seems like all of the new owners are surprisingly happy with it.

For those that don't care to read through all of the reviews, one customer said that they were having trouble with the fit or attachment mechanism of the battery. They called the store they bought it from, and the store put him in touch with Echo support. He did, and within a few hours THERE WAS AN ECHO SUPPORT PERSON AT HIS HOUSE !! The rep helped to troubleshoot, then took possession of the saw, and had it back within a week. It operated flawlessly thereafter. Almost hard to believe such a story. I hope it's really true.

Someone said that most if not all the reviews where written by people that got their saws for free and where asked to post a review. I haven't read any reviews yet and can't confirm if this story is true.
I would love to get my hands around those handlebars to compare the saws speed to my Husqy 536. A couple of weeks ago I tested the saw with the maximum approved bar length and for the Husqy this 14 inch was too much to handle. The 16 inch bar and the backhandle of the Echo would definitely be a saw that I could do with in my 'toolbox'... If the chain speed would be over 20 meters per second (as the Husqy is).

It's a wooden line, lol. I actually just came back from HD where they said they had one in stock. I was hoping to buy one and video a real life demo but they had none and said they are on back order. Apparently they can't get them fast enough from Echo.

Try these. A little bit pricey, but they absolutely kick ass. The batteries recharge in about 15 minutes, and at 18 volts, they have quite a bit of power.

The impact driver is helpful when you're trying to drive screws into tough material, like say a 4" long deck screw into pressure treated lumber, for example. But you probably already knew that. Just thought I'd mention it in case there's someone out there who was not aware of the purpose.

Yeah, I just gave away a full set of Bosch 24 volt tools a couple of months ago. Batts with NiCad tech were $125 each for high capacity and I would end up with same issue again in x years.

I bought the Milwaukee 18 volt new technology tools and batteries. Also has brushless motors now.

Big thing that originally had me looking at those months ago was a post by Lumberjack about their 1/2 inch impact gun. Through the roof torque. (Be careful when buying, lots of diff models to weed through.)
