Went to my dealer today and grabbed one. Out the door for S423 including the free case, bar oil and hat. For what ever reason he set it up with a Stihl Super RS instead of the stock Oregon chain. All I can say so far is man does this thing feel nice. I was bucking and noodling some oak I had saved for its first tank full. So far I like it and loved the cost. That makes 3 Echos for me and no complaints with any of them so far.

Keep us updated ML. The "Timber Wolf" - I like it.

For a 60cc saw that's a good deal. Sounds like it would be good for a medium stump saw and for blocking down stuff that would make a top-handle struggle. I prefer to climb with "just enough" saw. Otherwise it pulls my saddle down. And nobody likes gratuitous butt crack :rayos:

I read hundreds of reviews from various sites and only saw a few bad reviews and they were all out of box issues. Probably bought online instead of at a full service dealer. Nothing better than getting it retuned and testing it before you cough up the cash.

So I've had the saw for a year now and while I still love it for the money it costs it needed some tweaking. It has always ran well but was a little anemic when the full bar was buried (20"). Today was the day to remedy that. Did a muffler mod nothing to crazy, it does still need back pressure after all. Also trimmed the limiters so it could be tuned properly with the muffler mod done. Got it close on the bench and then headed over to park to tune it in some wood. Here a tweak, there s tweak but now it just cuts and keeps cutting. Fully buried with no bogging, and just starts to 4 stroke if you let up the pressure a little. Same thing when cutting 10" logs so I think I got it setup about perfect.
