Echo CS-271T, stock...

JeffGu

Been here much more than a while
Here's a stock CS-271T with about 15 minutes of use on it prior to today. I picked up a second one to keep at home as a backup, so no muffler mods or even a retune, yet. I bogged it in the second cut getting the bar a little sideways in the cut. I dug my old Sony DSR-SX40 cam out and charged up the batteries. My videographer skills aren't too great.

Yeah... CS-355T is nice saw... they've really improved that one, and it's at a great price, now. The 271T is only about 6.5 lbs. and a couple of pounds is quite a difference when you're carrying it on your harness, climbing around in a tree. Cutting over your head, etc. wears you out fast, the heavier the saw.

Now the 355 is less money and the 330 is not sold anymore.

Hey, my dealer told me that when Echo decided to drop their prices, the dealers had to eat the loss on the already narrow profit margin on the ones they had in stock. Luckily, he only had a few saws at the time, and he gets a better price on the new ones... so he wasn't too worried. He said some of the bigger dealers with lots of stock, though, had to ride out the slow sales period until the price drops got sales moving, again. It worked, apparently. I was up there a couple days ago and he had a bunch of new Echo saws in stock and the prices are very good. A lot of Stihl and Husky guys were starting to give the new Echo saws a try.

Interested to hear comparisons from someone who has ran both the echo and ms150. Chomping at the bit for one of these little saws but simply cannot decide!

I love my 355. That thing is a tank and almost gives my husqvarna T540 xp a run for it's money.

Of all my power equipment, my echo gear needs the least amount of repair. It just lacks the rpms that my higher tier gear has.

It was not fun losing money on every sale. the price drop on the 355 and 590 was painful. thankfully i had a heads up on the 500p switch so it wasnt nearly as bad.

That's what my local guy said, too. He was glad to see me when I came back and bought the other 271T from him. He was down to a single 590 he got at the old prices, but I didn't need another one of those. I hope the price drops bring you enough sales to make up for it.
