Echo climb saws. opinions??

just wondering what you think about echo climb saws. i bought a 330t to try out the echo brand a bit. my saws now consist of,
(climb saws)
Echo cs-360T 16", cs-330T 14"
(ground saws)
Husqvarna 435 16"

Stihl MS390 20"

(new) Makita 7901 24" and HD filter(without big bore)

Husqvarna 395xp 36"

i know from being a landscaper since i was 14 that echo has been stepping up thier quality. i think it's safe to say that the echo 360t can keep up with a stihl ms200t after a muffler mod of course. i have been pleased with echo and their service and better warranties. 5 years echo vs 1 year stihl. stihl makes a good saw dont get me wrong but echo has a pretty good saw too. what is your experiences with echo?

When a friend was car shopping, he pointed out that Kia was offering a 10-yr warranty and the cars were cheaper than most brands, so he could hardly go wrong trying one. My position is, I'd rather replace my car than feel stuck driving a POS for 10 years.

I climb on a $300 saddle, even though there are models for around $100, because I spend a lot of time in it and I'd rather be comfortable than cheap.

I haven't tried the newest echos, but I tried one each of several consecutive releases from them, and none of them lasted anywhere near 5 yrs. Maybe it was partially user error, but I don't have time to cart saws back and forth to the repair shop all the time. I say, Once you go Stihl, you never go back.

id like to see someone put my echo 360t against a stihl ms200t. i think mine would win. because of one factor. more displacement. but if your talking a modded 200t, forget it. but i think my muffler modded 360t would win against a stihl 200t stock.

I've had a nice little echo for years as a back up saw.
I like it. But I'm certainly not using it every day. Most of the time I'm climbing with a Husqvarna or a Stihl.

The echo equipment I have had is indestructable. I agree with Forest Keeper, not my first choice, but it seems like Echo is doing something right when my 12 year old handheld blower that spent much of it's life outdoors and has never been serviced fires up on the first pull.

I have an Echo 302 (from the mid 1980's) 14". All cast magnesium body (no plastic anywhere), no chain brake, points, no electronic ignition. I still use it as a lite ground saw occasionally. Once it's started, it'll start on the 1st pull.

I own an Echo 360T 14" as well. It's very dependable, but nowhere near the power of a 200T. If I had the $, I would get a 200T. The 1 thing nice about the 360T is the Walbro carb. That was definitely a selling point.

there isn't a top handled echo that will cut with a properly sharpened stock 200t. i don't care if its muffler modded, bored out, ported, and pro tuned. cause if that was the case everyone would own the cheaper echo...... nuff said. echos are good hard working, cheap saws, that will take plenty of abuse and make you plenty of money. i have a 680 that has been through two wind storms, an ice storm, a couple of tornados, and four years of abuse by every tom, dick, and harry that worked for arbor md and still starts every time; and it runs a 24" bar (i call her pearl) i love that saw it has an additional manual oiler pump for cutting dry wood and an adjustable automatic oiler that will put out to much oil (try finding that in 2011). i have a 361 that is a boat anchor and the newest climber has to use it until they buy their own; and all of the guys that have ran my saw go buy a 200t even the cheap baztards. they pick the crappy 192 that barley runs over that 361. i have went through two 440's and they are ok. the used 025's and super 026's are way better and even cheaper.

I used echos since 1980, used to be great saws, albeit a bit slow and anemic in the big wood. I had two 302's that would heat up and boil the fuel in South La., so I'd put one down and pick up the other. They got me through the first two years of my career, and my old boss gave them to me. Then I saw a Husky. Went right out and bought a 44 for $310 and used it every day for at least 10 years. It still runs. Always hated Stihls till the 020 came out. Try to find one now. The 200t is good, expensive, but it really screams when you put the .043 guage bar and Picco mini chain on it, then you got something. Clunky, but much more reliable thant the 338. I've burned up several of 'em.
