Re: \'Early wood\' samples reshape plant history
Early wood...as in ring porous?
I can only imagine what these plants looked like externally. It sounds as though they were monocotyledon-ous-ish-y.
Re: \'Early wood\' samples reshape plant history
This stuff is partly interesting.
But when it come to 400 million years, can't scientists be off the mark by 20 million years here and there?
Is it possible that the new discovery, is really 370 million years old?
Sort of odd in a way, how fossils and dinosaurs can be so interesting even though they should have gone back to dust.
Re: \'Early wood\' samples reshape plant history
There's a news story being released today about regenerating over a 30,000 year old plant. It was found in Siberian permafrost. It's not a petrified seed in amber but still really old. That would of involved some cool propagation work.

The title is amusing.
Sort of reminds me of Jurassic Park. Which is sort of a fun movie concept.
